2023 Intentions

As promised, here are my intentions for 2023 (taken from Jen Atkin). The first are overarching intentions and I then hone down into different areas of my life. I’ve written my intentions on post its on my computer so I’m always reminded of them, I recommend doing something similar. Yours can (and should be) totally different to mine!

I want to quit: aimlessly scrolling through social media

I want to learn: how to create engaging content on social media

I want to try: to read everyday

I want to have: a proactive and productive attitude

I want to start: a good morning routine habit

I want to continue: sharing positivity and empowering others

I’m going to stop: shaming my amazing body

I want to be: successful and happy in my work and personal life

Personal:

  1. Believe in myself more

  2. Think before speaking

  3. Seek uncomfortableness, to help me develop

Health:

  1. Eat less of the foods that make me painfully bloat (sugar, gluten and chickpeas!)

  2. Keep active (not exercise, but generally moving more throughout the day)

  3. Seriously cut back on booze smoking

Career:

  1. Build a successful Pilates brand online and in person

  2. Be confident in my Pilates offer

  3. Have my online app ready to go live by the end of the year if possible

Recreational:

  1. Set boundaries, saying no and missing out on things is ok!

  2. Minimise binge drinking. Enjoy a fancy drink when you like, don’t just drink the cheap shit for the sake of it, you know you hate it!

  3. Visit a new place every month

Home:

  1. Try a TV and phone free evening once a week

  2. Start and stick to monthly date nights

  3. Keep in touch with my sisters and parents more often.

  4. Give gardening a bit more of a go. I’m an Earth sign this should be my bag!

Spiritual:

  1. Journal everyday, it’s so helpful

  2. Practice meditation and mindfulness at least once a week

  3. Take steps towards living and working in the sunshine. My soul is connected to the sun and warmth.

As well as the above intentions, I also asked myself ‘What would I do, be and have in 2023 if there was no way to fail?’ I considered what the answer to this was after 6 months and then after 12 months. All of mine were connected to growing my Pilates business so I know where my focus and efforts will be this year!
